Author's Summary: Simon must make a choice about who is to live and who is to die.
I loved this look at Simon as a character. He's not given nearly the amount of attention his character deserves. Dawn shows us how deeply he cares for his friends and brother cops, the weight he feels for his subordinates and the danger he sometimes needs to place them, and his determination to get out of his current predicament and save those he cares for. Then, on top of a wonderful character study, we get a suspenseful kidnapping story and a thirst for revenge that places our favorite guys in peril.
