Why this must be read: This is a wonderful gem on a different way our lads got into CI5.
Neither start in CI5 but they manage to eventually impress Cowley. . . not an easy feat any day of the week! I love this and Elessar always manages to capture their voice no matter where she puts them.
He wondered who he worked for and if he'd consider changing affiliations. "So, who do you work for?"
"Don't work for anybody. Well at least not about this. I'm just trying to stay alive...."
Cowley shot him a sceptical look. Upon seeing it, Bodie elaborated, "It's true. I'm not an agent. Now my partner...."
"The one who took out the other shooter?"
"Yep. That's the one."
"Witnesses report he's very good at hand-to-hand. Dropped an experienced KGB operative in under thirty seconds and he's still out. Severe concussion. The hospital thinks he may come to by morning but they aren't sure. So who...?"
"Well, he doesn't exactly work for anyone right now either." Bodie was getting a kick out of baiting Cowley.
