Lookin' For Eight by Fidus Amicus (PG)
Hi, I'm
snycock, back to take the Crack Van (or Crack '69 Ford, as the case may be), out for another spin. I've got a great slate of TS recs lined up for you this month, a mix of old and new. I tend to lean towards slash but enjoy spreading the news about the occasional gen gem, including this one.
Fandom:THE SENTINEL
Pairing: none
Length: 99k
Author on LJ: unknown
Author Website: Fidus Amicus at Wolfpup's Den
Why this must be read:
This is a lovely alternative meeting AU where Jim, plagued by his senses, goes to decompress at a Texas ranch after catching the Switchman. He meets a young student named Blair Sandburg there, who's struggling to get his life back on track after a terrible accident. Fidus Amicus does a great job taking canon threads and weaving them into a different, yet subtly familiar story of how our intrepid hero and sidekick met. One of the things I really love about this story is that Blair needs Jim's help as much, if not more, when they first meet as Jim needs Blair's.
