Why this must be read:

Harry/Ron/Hermione is the only OT3 ship I’ve ever really liked. Why? Because they’ve been through so much together (and will go through a lot more before it’s over). Because they need each other. Because even though it’s going to come down to Harry in the end, you know he wouldn’t be able to do it without the support of his two best friends.

What I really like about this fic, though, is the fascinating picture it presents of Hogwarts after the end Voldemort. It definitely resonates (pardon the pun) with what’s going on in the world today. I could see this happening in the books, especially with the way things were headed at the end of Book 5.

"Harry."

He jumped. He hadn't even heard the door opening, but there was Hermione, with Ron right behind her. She was smiling that familiar smile that you saw when you finally got the right answer after a couple of tries.

"Harry," she said again, and she was a little out of breath, as though she'd hurried all the way. Her eyes were sparkling. "Finally came around, did you?"

He reeled back, feeling as if he'd been slapped. "What did you do," he snapped at Ron, "place bets?"

"Hey!" Ron said. "I don't know what she's on about."

"When do you ever?" she said. It wasn't that the two of them were any less rude to each other than they'd been before they were a couple -- it was just that their tone of voice had changed. "But if you want to live a normal life, Harry, you're going to have to live it with us, because the rest of the world has gone quite mad."

This is one of my favorite trio fics. It’s written by Resonant, so you know it’s fabulous. And while you could call this a PWP, I think it runs a lot deeper. The characterization is excellent, the sex is hot, and it will leave you feeling all waffy at the end.
