Smoke and Mirrors by Dana [NC17]
Hi everybody! I'm your Angel driver for the month! *waves* Starting you out with a personal favorite of mine.... the Smoke and Mirrors series by Dana.
Fandom: Angel
Pairing: Lindsey/Gunn
Summary: Not long after Redefinition in season two, Gunn and Lindsey run into each other. That's how it starts. The whys are more complicated.

Why this MUST be read:
Well, for starters, just think about it. Gunn and Lindsey. I mean the possible hotness factor alone should tell you something! But still, in less capable hands, it could turn out badly. So thank goodness it's written by Dana! She takes a very rare pairing and turns it into pure poetry.
She crafts such a sense of inevitability, of fate. You can't help but read this and think, Of course! It just HAD to happen like that! And her insights into the character's psychies are so perfect it's almost scary.
Finally, as if that wasn't enough to get you interested, she sets such a lovely pace to the whole thing. So unhurried. Like she has all the time in the world. And you just sink into her rich prose, letting it envelope you.
It's impossible to pick a favorite out of the series, but I will point out a couple that really stand out. "Smoke Signals" and "Roadside Attraction" are both fabulous, and provide some rather profound character insights. "Ashes and Glass" will break you open and leave you hurting. And "The Thin Red Line" is just damn hot.
