Why this must be read: A story that seems to set out to answer the question of why doesn't Tessa like Amanda in quite a imagentive way. Most of the story is set in the past just before Tessa met Duncan MacLeod. Tessa is working on restoring a painting that our favorite female thief is also quite interested in.
The chemistry between Tessa and Amanda works well. Neither woman is taken out of character or demonized, as often happens in these stories.
