Why this must be read: This is one of my favorite Alias fics ever. Set post-"Almost Thirty Years", it explores an interesting what-if scenario for just what happened after the fade to black. Lara's Vaughn is brilliant, the hint of a dark side showing through. This is also Sydney at her best, desperate to compartmentalize everything and failing spectacularly. Gritty and harsh, but beautiful.
