Why this must be read:
My favorite thing about Parker's writing is her ability to get inside the mind of a character and find their voice. Here, she's found the part of Sydney that many of us thought was missing this past season - her sheer determination to regain order in her life. It was always Sydney's intent to leave the the spy game when SD-6 fell and now she decided to do just that. With a little help, of course, from Sark. The pairing is deceptive, because at its core this story is about Sydney, doing all the things that we want her to do, mostly taking back control of her destiny. A lyric and beautifully written piece.
