Don't see your fandom listed? That just means it's not part of our full-time rotation. You can still make recs as one of our Monthly Featured Fandoms!
Comment HERE to get in line. If a fandom overview has not already been completed for your fandom, you are encouraged but not required to provide one. A list of the fandom overviews already submitted can be found HERE.


Think your fandom is big enough to warrant year round inclusion in the community? If you can round up at least eight other reccers, then comment below to claim the first month of recs. A sign-up sheet for subsequent months will be put up when I know a fandom has adequate representation. You also agree to prepare a brief overview of your fandom.


Overview guidelines
There are some great examples saved in Memories. Your overview should include, at minimum:

Pics & Bios - thumbnails and a brief introduction to the main characters
Overview - including major plot points/story arcs
Fandom Resources - major archives, recs lists, live journal communities, etc. People are always welcome to leave links for additional archives or personal recs pages in the comments of your overview.

Picture hosting is available through the comm's moderators, and is preferred if you cannot provide permanent hosting of your overview pics.

Hello!

I was wondering what your policy on anime fandoms is. I noticed that you have done recs for Eroica and Gundam Wing in the past, but other than that, your focus is overwhelmingly slash.

There are some good fandoms out there that I would be interested in reccing for a month, but I'd like to know if you're interested before I offer. :)

Well, since you're the first person to ask for it in the year that crack van's been in operation, yeah, I'm thinking there's not enough interest to justify it being a year-round deal. If you can round up 8 or 10 fellow fen to provide a month's worth of Matrix recs then I'll reconsider. Thanks.

Hi hi! I've got twelve willing volunteers to rec in Marvel or Iron Man fandom over here (http://cupidsbow.livejournal.com/298620.html).

There was a lot of support for the broader Marvel category amongst those who signed up, even though the original spur was to rec Iron Man.

If you guys go for the larger Marvel category, it would work the same way the current DCU category does; although we'd obviously be starting out with a focus on Iron Man... especially as there's no way I'm attempting an overview of all Marvel canon! O_o

Actually, I think I'm going to try and get fan experts from both Iron Man comic and movie fandoms to help me with the overview, so that both are represented -- but that is for me to worry about. :)

In short: Marvel/Iron Man for the win! Give me instructions and I will get things organised on my end.

Hello. First time possible reccer here. I've heard on the grapevine that crack-van has stopped using the memories to keep track of which stories have been recced. Is there another way being used so there aren't repeats? I just ask 'cause the two fandoms I've signed up for are HUGE! My brain just melts when I look at 535 tags for one fandom(Sentinel) and 729 (Stargate Franchise) for the other to go through when I look at the Recs by Fandom link. So sorry to sound like a lazy butt, but I don't think I've got the time to check the entire tag strings for either fandoms, looking for repeats.

Every story, crossover, and vid ever recommended. I'm a couple of stories behind but mostly I keep it up consistently. It should be self-explanatory, but all you need to do is a Find (Ctrl-F) once you've clicked anywhere on the page. You can do a search by story or by author/artist.
