Why this must be read :
I admit that I'm one of those fans that kind of stopped paying attention after Sorkin stopped writing the show and the new folks seemed to struggle to understand characters I love. Most of the fic I read tends to be in the first three seasons of the show. But Marguerite in "Descanso" filled in holes that the writers had left, and brings us a Zoey haunted by her experiences at the season finale of season 4, and a Will that is interesting and sympathetic.
In a long genfic set as the White House works to make the problems of teen drug and alcohol abuse a more national issue, we see them also try to fix a broken Zoey.
This is a story not to be missed.
