Why this must be read:
"Why would you ever want to risk yourself like that? And don't give me some bullshit answer about being in love."
"Um, why are you bringing it up out of the blue like this?"
"Why not?" Brian shrugs, as if his reasoning shouldn't be questioned. Justin's thoughtful expression tells him that the wheels inside the kid's head are most likely spinning overtime. "And don't frown. I'm not gonna pay for Botox for the both of us."
This takes off from the beginning of the fourth season, showing a pretty plausible interaction between Brian and Justin regarding Justin's involvement in the Pink Posse. It's AU from 402, but not dreadfully. I like this story because it's characterisation is particularly strong. It resonanted with me because of Brian, and what happened to him later in the season--he will care for Justin, because he wants to, because that's what they signed on for. I really like this story.
