Seaborn for America, by Speranza
Fandom: WEST WING
Pairing: Josh/Sam
Author on LJ:
cesperanza
Author Website: http://www.trickster.org/speranza/
Why this must be read:
This is an idea from canon that many, many people have followed up on in some way or other: that Sam's not going to stop at running for Congress is pretty well established. So, please listen when I tell you that this is the best fic I've seen on the subject. It's short, but brilliant, and cuts to the quick in that weird painful-cute way that Sorkin himself often does. It's one of those stories where you read it and then you sort of have to sit down for a minute because the world just got a little bit larger, because this story's in it and it did happen like this.
It is, in short, lovely, and I wish the author had written a whole lot more in this fandom. She's got one other fic, and that's lovely too, but this one... this one puts magic into something common, and if that isn't worth reccing, then I don't know what is.
