Why this must be read:
This story is set in Minas Tirith after the destruction of the Ring, and gives the reader a wonderful, detailed look at Frodo as he is both learning how to live without the Ring, and getting ready to leave Middle Earth. The Blue Book of the title represents so much - the love and support the other hobbits show for Frodo, the importance of telling *all* of their stories, and even the writing process. This story includes great details like Frodo learning to get along without his missing finger - so significant to him as a writer. It is a pleasure to read, and makes me feel fully immersed in Tolkien's world.
