Why this must be read: One of the things I'm trying for this month is a bit of variety in the genre of the fics I rec. As much as I (as with most of the rest of fandom) love the NC-17 or R rated slash fics, sometimes you want something a little different. Or maybe you're on for a quick fix over lunch at work and don't dare read your regular porn. Or perhaps you just want a quick laugh or angst. That's what I'm trying to provide this month.
That said, I'm a sucker for fics that are from the POV of a minor character and reflecting on the major character(s). Which is what I love about this. From Rafe's POV on the mishaps of his first time partnered with Blair. One thing I like is that Rafe has always come across as the junior partner in his partnership with Brown on the show, so here we get to see him stepping up into the senior role for a period of time. Not to mention his angst for when things go wrong on his watch.
