Why this must be read:

It's kinda like a five things fic, only not. It's the unhappy endings that will happen to Sam and Jack, sort of. It's a future fic, in a way. It's told in a style you wouldn't think would work, but does. It's difficult to describe and not quite like any other shipfic. Go read it.

It gets just one line as a preview, because it's hard to take any of the other lines out of the context where they belong:
