Why this must be read: This story is a well-written fantasy/mystery, tense and atmospheric, using each of the characters perfectly. It's a fabulous example of a plot-filled comic fanfic and I would have recommended it even if it wasn't crossover day.

I'm not a big fan of crossovers generally, especially multi-fandom ones. I usually find them forced, like the author just picked their favorite sets of characters and smushed them together. But this story, with the most fabulous title ever, is so organic that you find yourself forgetting that these characters inhabit four different universes. What do you mean Rupert Giles never met Pete Wisdom? Unbelieveable!

The first time I read this fic, I found myself leaning closer and closer to the screen, holding my breath. This isn't a fast-moving story, but I know you'll enjoy it.
