Why this must be read:

It was the event which kick-started a hundred slash stories; Justin and Britney breaking up. One Hundred Days is a lovely gentle story which follows JC as he watches Justin recuperate - rather charmingly missing the fact that their relationship is changing.

One Hundred Days is technically the middle of a trilogy but it can be read as a stand-alone.

A lovely, lovely story and one which rewards rereading. I think this was among the first popslash fics I read and I just adore it.

This new Justin seems to be a better fit for your life, too. He has more patience than before and is capable of peaceful stillness. The way the two of you sit on the deck every morning and silently drink coffee together, watching as the haze slowly lifts from the city below. It's kind of nice having him around.

You're going to miss that when he goes.

But it's been eleven days and you know that this can't be good for him. So you sit down across from him at the kitchen table and wait. It takes a minute or two but eventually he lifts his eyes to meet yours.

"Why?" you ask.

He smiles softly then and you wonder if he's been counting the days. The way you've been counting them. Waiting to see who made the first move.
