Hepatitis by Anne Carr (PG)
Hi, I'm
gilda_elise and I'll be your Pros driver for the month. But Pros to me is B/D, so all stories will be centered on the Lads.
Fandom: THE PROFESSIONALS
Pairing: Bodie/Doyle
Author on LJ: unknown
Author Website: none
Why this must be read: I love when Bodie and Doyle's work and personal lives are so seamlessly blended that you can't tell if they're already lovers or not when the story begins. Almost everything they say to each other could be as friend to friend. Yet the affection and humor are always there as Doyle sees Bodie through his illness, so that when deeper feelings are expressed you're not really surprised. It's a short story, only ten pages, but just lovely.

The ending is just perfect and so in character. Ray's declaration of love is so unigue and sightful- just like him. This fic put a bit smile on my face.
Thanks so much for taking the time to do recs this month!

They're both so charming and lovable in this story; that's a big part of its appeal for me.
Thanks so much for taking the time to do recs this month!
Actually, I think it's becoming a labor of love!

As you said, I loved the affection and humor floating throughout the story and they made my heart warming.
I've just re-read it and laughed out at this line of Bodie's thought;
What am I supposed to say? Don't be late. You're the only bright thing around here that isn't yellow?
She has such a humorous taste which I adore and love. Thanks so much for reminding me this very lovely small story. I must re-read her other stories. What a hardship! ::bg::
Looking forward to your upcoming recs in this month.

Yes, she has several I really like but, like you, this is my favorite.

She manages to make Bodie forelorn without being pathetic. The mix of humor and pathos is just right.

Terrible, isn't it? ;-)
Looking forward to your upcoming recs in this month.
I hope you enjoy the rest!
