Why this must be read:
Part of the “The Laurel and the Rose” series, though this particular story can also be read separately, it revolves upon Horatio and Archie’s celebration after they receive word of their transfer to Captain Sawyer’s ship. How can anyone resist a drunken Horatio, silly and possessive by turns? And of course, Horatio, being Horatio, nothing is ever simple. What begins as a simple tale of debauchery takes another turn as the two men finally confront and lay to rest some of the ghosts that still linger between them. All in all, a lovely, thoughtful story.
