Prognosticate by Oro (PG13)
Title: Prognosticate
Fandom: The West Wing
Pairing/Characters: CJ/Toby
Author on LJ:
warlordkittens
Author Website: Art and Fiction by Oro
Why this must be read:
They say it takes all kinds of people; she is a tall, witty, elegant woman from Dayton, Ohio. He is a balding Jewish writer from New York. They don’t seem right for each other, but who really does. She’s his best friend; he came to Los Angeles and got her to join the Bartlet campaign. She calls him Pokey when trying to make an argument about the healthcare bill. They say it takes all kinds.
Though this is a relatively short story, it doesn't take away from the impact of it. When I first started reading in this fandom, it took awhile for me to really buy CJ/Toby as a pairing. But after reading stories like these, seeing the chemistry they have onscreen reflected in fanfiction--and, truly, amplified--I find myself sercretly cheering for them. It's one of those can't-help-but-love-them pairings, where they know what they want but they can't seem to get it.
