It qualifies as an insta-rec, but it's such a nice way to round out my month on

crack_van that I couldn't pass it up.

So, the "morning after" cliche is well used, but also well loved. And then people like Claira come along, and turn that well worn cliche into something terribly cute and fun. This story, while being short and fluffy (like Moffet!), also features what I consider a spot on characterization of Starbuck and Apollo during their Academy years. As a bonus, we also get Academy!Helo, who is just as much of a scamp back then as he is around the card table during the mini-series.

"Kara Thrace and Lee Adama," Helo proclaims, as if reading the blurb for a really bad movie. "Opposites, yet drawn together through fate for just one night – "

"Oh my gods, shut up!"

"Kara Adama. Has a nice ring."

"I’m going to frakking kill you."

And that, boys and girls, is the end of my driving stint. It was harder than I thought -- I have a nice file of story recs ready and waiting -- but I hope that there was something here that you could enjoy. If not, never fear, the fandom is new and growing by leaps and there's bound to be something out there to suit your tastes -- and a whole line of drivers just waiting to give directions.
