Black Sky series, by Te (NC-17)
Fandom: DC COMICS
Pairing: Tim/Kon, Kon/Bruce
Author on LJ:
thete1
Author Website: Teland
Why this must be read:
I have so, so, *so* much love for this series. It's actually kind of hard to write this rec, because I have to explain all the reasons *why* this series is so unbelievable, and--well, yes.
A warning--this series is an AU, and an AU triggered by a very central character's death. I don't want to say more than that, but consider yourself warned.
This series is about a lot of things. It's about Kon, and who he is once you get him away from the S-symbol; it's about Tim; it's about Bruce and how he deals with loss; it's about the whole Batfamily and how much love they have and how ubelievably fucked-up they are. It's about grief and pain and getting past the death of a loved one, and it's one of the most creative, beautiful stories I've ever read. Don't balk at the Kon/Bruce pairing; it totally *works* in this series.
I should also warn you that this is a tearjerker. I have reread this series so many times, and I still can't read The Letter (the second installment) without tearing up.
That's the other thing he's been trying to do. He doesn't
know how he'll feel if he ever manages to go ten
minutes without tripping over Tim, but maybe it wouldn't
be so bad if he does it just once.
Just once.
A truth at the edge of hearing (leads to the rest of the stories)
