Howie ponders his hair and decides to take action.
Baffling but true, probably one of the first side-effects of joining the pop fandom is your sudden interest in hairstyles. Sometimes it seems like the new hairstyle your favorite boybander or pop princess is sporting is of keener interest than what the music sounds like, who they are dating, or what they are wearing. Even if you don't give two thoughts to your own hairstyle, you find yourself captivated by every follicle change of theirs. Whether it is Howie's curls (or lack there of), Justin's curls (or lack there of), JC's curls (or lack there of), AJ's hair (or lack there of), Nick's hair (or lack there of), it's going to be someone's. So here's a fun short story as the author says, "Written when Howie had long girly-hair and I had issues with it." Because we can all relate to that.
He sighed and stood up. It was stupid to spend so much time angsting over his hair, but he couldn't help it. It wasn't something he could talk to the other guys about - poor little Howie and his problem with his flowing locks. Brian would just smile and pat his shoulder, probably pull some biblical quote about Samson out of his ass. Nick would roll his eyes and make a joke to Kevin about it, which Kevin would ignore. And Howie didn't dare bring up any hair complaints to AJ. He would probably get punched.
Howie wondered how Justin Timberlake dealt with it.
Then he remembered seeing Justin for the first time after the boy had shaved his head. And all the commotion and disbelief that had followed it, and how Justin shrugged off all the critics, not giving a damn what anyone else thought. And Howie wondered.
