The Gambler by Khaleesian (R)
Fandom: Horatio Hornblower
Pairing: Horatio/Bush
Why this must be read:
Because Khaleesian undertook the task of rewriting the final two chapters of Lieutenant Hornblower and made it even more enjoyably slashy. While this isn't the exact vision I have of these men (a unique hybrid of the C.S. Forester book characters and the A&E production), I love that Khaleesian gives more of a voice to Lt. Bush. Also, backstory is provided and alluded to, drawing the reader further in - which I love in a story. And, again, the trypich of Bush-Horatio-Archie is placed in the spotlight (I wonder if Khaleesian's next endeavour might be an A/B/H story *G*)
"You will find one Archibald Kennedy on your list and I suggest that you send for him at once. Then these three will be stealing the stars from the sky in a month’s time."

LOL! How funny.
I can see it all now. "Sorry, babe, you're it."
*snicker* Well... there are a few others ;) But she's one of the author's who made my rec list ;) I'll have more up in the next few days, too.
But I have read this one myself, and I was mighty damn impressed, as with all her writing.
Indeed! And believe me, if *I* like a non-H/A in any way story... it's got to be good, imo at least *G*
