Why this must be read:

I love a good original character. They're rare as jewels so when you find one it deserves to be recced up the wazoo. This is one of those. It's a story with an endearing, charming and normal original character and an even better characterization of Ford. The guy who definitely got the short end of the stick story wise. (from a whole lot of people really) It gets him out of his teammates shadows, shows us a bit of the offduty life of the Atlantis expedition, further members of said expedition and...it's just a really great read.

If only for the fish.

I read this when it was posted, and I still adore it. And the OC's a wonderful character -- I was sure, when I'd read it, that she must have appeared somewhere in the show, because she fits it so beautifully.
