Why this must be read:
I'm slightly obsessed with Jack/Sawyer first-kiss fics, which is exactly what this is, and I love it to death. Everything's just so spot-on here, you can almost squint and see canon.
Like most men, Jack always saw kissing as a means to an end. He wasn't a mercenary, but the point was to get the girl to go to bed with you. But that wasn't what this was about. He and Sawyer weren't going farther than this. Sawyer was drunk, and they were playing a game.
