Why this must be read:
Brenda's series of MunchenKay stories is definitely not your typical Homicide fanfic; there's a sweetness about them that you rarely see in Homicide stories, but which somehow doesn't seem out of place. Or maybe I just like seeing Munch and Kay happy for once. Sadly, Brenda has since passed away of cancer, but first she wrote several other lovely stories in the series. I especially recommend its immediate sequel, Stern Daughter.
