Hi! Forgot to introduce myself last time. I'm Jetpack Monkey. I recced Angel last month. My "Buffy" tastes run towards Xander!fic and minor characters. Hope you enjoy!

Why this must be read:

Because it's different. Somebody goes into hell to rescue a certain Slayer, post-"Gift." We're never told who this brave adventurer is, specifically, until the end. Part of the fun of this fic is trying to suss that out.

Well-paced and full of detail, Aadler creates the sort of tests that a person would have to withstand in order to fufill such a task. The main character's strength and determination are impressive -- he is fully realized and developed, even if we're never quite sure of who he is.

I discovered this entry solely by accident, or I would have made some comment before now. Yes, I can understand how the identity of "Cale" might be less than obvious, because I put work into making sure it WASN'T obvious. But it's a reference back to Season 4, and the humiliation of Parker Abrams (the guy who bedded and dumped Buffy after a one-nighter in her freshman — and only — year of college).

Ack. Didn't mean to give the impression that I didn't know who it was. That's why I recced it! I write Parker Abrams fic (although I never finish it) and I was tickled that somebody would devote such an excellent work to such a minor character.
