Somewhere I Have Never Traveled and Gladly Beyond by Jenn (NC-17)

Title: Somewhere I Have Never Traveled and its sequel, Gladly Beyond
Fandom: Smallville
Pairing: Clark/Lex
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] seperis
Author website: Indulgence

Why you *must* read this: All these recs and I've only mentioned Jenn in a crossover rec? I find this incredibly wrong as this is the woman who pretty much seduced me into SV with her writing. "Somewhere I Have Never Traveled" is 400K of some incredibly *fantastic* writing. Clark decides he's going to become human, but wouldn't you just know that his timing leaves a lot to be desired? Lois is terrific, Lex is --well, he's *Lex*, which is the highest compliment you can pay an author, isn't it? It's hot, it's thrilling--"Somewhere" pulls you in and refuses to let you go in 191 pages.

In case you have yet to notice, I really enjoy quoting from stories:

"I did wait." The low voice cuts through Clark's protests, quiet and deadly serious. "I waited for you to grow up and then you were gone. I waited for you to get the fuck over your savior complex and then you became my enemy. What do you want me to wait for this time? For you fall in love with someone else? I'm tired of waiting."

Special Note: "Gladly Beyond" is a sequel to this story, and somehow, I like it even more than "Somewhere". These are Jenn's notes, they might help with the chronology: Somewhere Index. If you need a link to "Rising", the prequel to both of these, feel free to ask in the comments and I'll be more than happy to give you a link, but as it is still a WIP I'm not going to rec it formally. (Also, there's other stories within this universe in that link.)
