Why this must be read: When I first wanted to get into HP fandom, I went out to find some stories. I find the horrifying badfic you find at first, and I was almost ready to give up when a kind soul recommended The Tea Series.

I've never looked back.

This is forever the first story I rec, the story I turn to when I want to laugh, cry, get scared or turned on.

The characterisations are perfect (I adore that Snape is neither too nice nor too pretty), the writing is great, the sex is hot, and the plot sneaks up on you in a way that you will love. Trust me. I tend to confuse The Tea Series with canon. "Remember in book 4, when Snape said... oh wait, damn, that was the Tea Series."

I did that too. I mentioned Draco getting expelled and my friend looked at me like I was mad. It was a little awkward too because she didn't read slash, and I didn't want to explain to her where I had read it...
