Take a good look at that pairing. Now ignore every negative thought you might possibly have. I read this story years ago. It was fantastic then and it's fantastic now. I've actually kept thinking about it ever since I first gave it a chance. It's heartbreaking and fascinating and just wonderfully detailed. Rachel clearly has a whole lot of love for David Bowie, and he's really one of the main characters in the story. I think the weirdest thing about this series is the fact that it's one of the only first person stories I've ever enjoyed. Rachel, basically, manages to take all of this shit I could never imagine liking and makes me fall in love. Really, give this one a chance, it's worth it.

You know, even years later, I'm always surprised that people have read this story and like it enough to rec it. I wrote it figuring I would read it and the people who feel obligated to read my stuff because I make them (ie. beta readers) would read it. I'm thrilled there was and still is an audience for that pairing.

So thank you so very, VERY much for the rec. [pets her weird OTP pairing] I love my JC/Bowie even if very few others understand it.

Man. This is like, one of my top ten pop fandom stories ever. Seriously. I was blown away when I read it and when I got called up for crack_van reccing, yours was one of the first stories I checked to see if it had been recced before. It's such a weird pairing but it works suprisingly well.

That's a great story. I loved it. It's one of my models for stories with "out there" pairings. And I'm the girl who writes Nick Carter/Tommy Lee, Zac Hanson/Gerard Way, Taylor Hanson/Jakob Dylan, ect. So it was probably an undue influence. Heh.
