Why this must be read:

I just have to rec the sequel to my last rec, Ruthless, because it doesn't seem so much a sequel as it does a continuation of the story, though it is able to stand on it's own. Again, the sexual tension in the story jumps out at you but Ellen Milholland has laced the characters with an almost desperate feel, making it seem edgy and entirely beautiful. The give-and-take dialogue between the characters is superior and the descriptors used are almost lyrical.

"Isn't she?" Ann breaks in, a little too sharply. CJ smiles more brightly, savoring the lingering sweetness of wine and small victories on her tongue. "I think my presence on the dance floor is being noticed, darling," Ann adds, the term of endearment almost a slur.
