Paranoia by Lucy Hale (NC-17)

Fandom: INVISIBLE MAN
Pairing: Fawkes/Hobbes
Author Website: ...now I will tell you
Why this must be read:

I'm kicking this tour of the I-Man fandom off with what is probably the best-known and best-loved slash story in the fandom. Lucy Hale is one of the top two writers in the I-Man fandom (the other being Chalie Ruocco) and Paranoia not only captures Darien and Bobby perfectly, it makes great use of Bobby's ex-wife, Vivian, to show what it takes to love someone with serious mental problems.

His hand froze halfway to the light.

He had locked the door.

Of course he had. He always did. He locked the door to the apartment, and the door to his bedroom. He had the light on in the living room to make it appear to anyone looking through a window that someone was still awake in the apartment. He had his alarm set to go off if the door was opened.

His hand hesitated in midair, then dropped, leaving the light on. He knew, absolutely knew that he'd done everything he had to.

But what if he hadn't?

I'm off to read this one. I love Lucy Hale and haven't read any Invisible Man in ages. However, unless I'm missing something, the link to the actual story isn't in the post.

I'm so glad to see this fandom getting some attention. I just spent about two hours revisiting some of my favorite stories by Lucy. Good times.
