Why this must be read: because I love a good undercover story. In this story, Starsky goes undercover -- alone -- as an enforcer with the Mob for a FBI gig. But after six months of deep cover, Starsky contacts Hutch, needing his help. So to help his partner out, Hutch goes back with Starsky, pretending to be a "specialist" in order to fit in with Starsky's underworld connections. All the while, both men are fighting their growing attraction for one another and trying to keep their covers from being blown.
A tense and well-written piece with lots of angst and hurt/comfort for those fans who like that. A very interesting take on our boys.
