Why this must be read:

I'm probably jumping the gun a bit with a Christmas story as my first rec in December, but I just couldn't resist. Maybe it's those Monday blues, but this made me smile all over again, and, when I saw it hadn't been recced before, I just had to go for this one.

It's Christmas, a time for being with the ones you love and taking time to reflect. Except, things aren't going to plan for Doyle this year. Stuck at a party whilst his significant other is being monopolised by an ex, Doyle's thoughts turn a little gloomy. This is such a sweet and realistic fic, though, and it really captures those emotions which we can't help feeling, even though we argue ourselves round in circles as to why we shouldn't let them get the better of us, however slightly. Like jealousy and doubt.

Overall, the story flows smoothly, the plot is handled fantastically, and the characters are simply wonderful to watch and listen to.

I really like this story.

In fact I LH is up there amongst my favourite Pros writers and her A Momentarily Aberration was the very first Pros story I read.

I have to confess I haven't read through all of LH's fics over at The Circuit Archive yet, but I'll bump her up my list and make sure to read that one first this weekend. :) Thanks!

You're welcome. I do hope you enjoy it. I know most of us always have a soft spot for our first ever story in a particular fandom, but I like this in spite of that. I like her stories and characters very much. They aren't intense and deep and edge of the seat stuff, but I really enjoy them. They are a nice wallow, without being OTT with soppiness.
