Why this must be read:

It's quite a dark story because it deals with Elladan and Elrohir still being angry even though it's been eighty years since their mother sailed. Although the twins are not the nicest people in this story it's easy to see where they're coming from. In the end it's Glorfindel who has to tell them that what they're doing is wrong and the way he gets it through to them is very well done. I also really liked Elrond's way of dealing with them.

It's something of a different characterisation of the twins, and of Elrond, but it comes from the text and there's nothing to suggest that isn't how it was.
