Why this must be read: Billy's a character known mostly through two relationships: President Roslin, whom he assists, and Petty Officer Dualla, whom he romances. With neither woman does he ever appear slick and assured. His charm's in his loud shirts, apologetic posture and occasional flashes of savvy insight that shows there's more to the man than you might expect.
This story takes that Billy and parachutes him into the midst of the Galactica rec room during a card game. All the regulars are there and the by-play's spot-on. Watchingtrajictale's Billy fumble his way into and through a game is a pleasure but also an excellent set-up to a satisfying conclusion.
