I'm going to risk being accused of partiality by recc'ing this story by my good friend,black_eyedgirl. This is a fic as beautiful as it is painful, exploring the kind of welcome that might await Toby once he gets out of jail in the post-S7 'Here Today' arc. Everything here is done with subtlety and grace, told in a Sam pov which does everything to show how much he cares for his former boss. Go read.
Toby looks neither disappointed nor surprised to see only Sam and CJ waiting for him.
