Why this Must be read: This story shows the everyday life of some of the crew of Serenity. Sometimes plans go as expected but that's rare. This is a story about what happens when things don't go smooth. I love the interactions between Mal, Simon and Jayne.
"We've got bigger problems just now," Mal answers. In a lower voice he adds, "is that true, what you told Jayne?"
Simon is only partway listening, as he examines the cut on Mal's head. "What I told Jayne?"
"'Bout his not dyin'. It true?"
"Well, it's true for right now. But I'd really like to get that bullet out of him, before...as soon as possible."

This is my last rec for December and the last one for Firefly for 2005. Hope everyone found something new or revisited something they loved.
