How Much String is in the World. Who Has It. by someinstant (NC-17)

Happy New Year! My first turn at the wheel of the Batmobile and I'm very much looking forward to it.

Fandom: DC COMICS
Pairing: Nightwing/Robin (Dick Grayson/Tim Drake)
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] someinstant
Author Website: none that I'm aware of
Why this must be read:

1) Because Drunken!Nightwing is a joy to behold.
2) Because the author's summary goes like this: "Day fifty-seven. Nightwing appears discontent with territory. Consumes large quanities of fermented agave root. Does not eat the worm."
3) Because it pushes against conventional formats, offers humourous footnotes, and is a great look at the interaction between Nightwing/Robin and how they deal with the world and each other.

Dick frowns, and tugs Tim a little closer, although at this point ‘a little closer’ means ‘try to suffocate the kid.’

Tim makes a frustrated noise, and rolls over to face Dick.

“Dick.” The kid looks like he’s gauging the distance to the window, should things take a turn for the worse.

“Yeah?”

“Could you--” Tim closes his eyes and exhales slowly. “Look,” he says, opening his eyes. “Just-- please stop touching me, okay? Or something,” and Dick can’t remember the last time he’s seen Tim so distracted and miserable-looking. “It’s just-- Either do it or *don’t*, because I.”

Oh. *Oh*.

Read the story: How Much String is in the World. Who Has It.

And in keeping with my dual identity this month, I'm also rec'cing for The Sentinel fandom! See you there.

Not that I mind, exactly, since I loved this to peices the first time I read it, and had forgotten all about it and loved reading it again, but you should probably know that this was rec'd (http://www.livejournal.com/community/crack_van/1298977.html) back in August - it just didn't for some bizzare reason, get listed in the memories.
