Why this must be read:

This isn't so much a crossover as a look at what bits of Earth-That-Was carry over into the future. In the author's own words, wherein Kaylee suggests a game, the crew gets creative, Mal is grouchy, and Jayne has an epiphany. It's a day when the crew needs a bit of a diversion, so they turn to the time-honored game of Rings to pass the time. The way they play, and the characters they choose, tell a lot about the Serenity crew that we know and love. This fic was part of Remix Redux Reloaded III, but I still prefer this story in its original state.
