Why this must be read: This is a master example of the drabble fic. Each scene or fragment of the story is told in 100 words exactly, and perfectly. I think it was one of the first in the fandom to do so.
I know the pairing is a bit strange, but this fic is honestly so perfect that it transcends the pairing. Each fragment lets you fill in the gaps. Each filled with enough emotion.
Let's pretend," Hugo whispered against the noise of rain, "that we're too drunk to act rationally."
"Act?" said Viggo, hands tightening as though Hugo were trying to move away. "I don't want to act. I want this to be real."
