Why this must be read:
Hmm, I seem to be developing a Cordelia trend this month… you don’t mind, right?
As it is, this fic was the one that cemented by love for Cordelia. She was one of the Scoobies, she was one of Fang Gang—or was she?
It didn't take her long to find the other shadow people. Faith was one. The second Faith got to Sunnydale, Cordelia could tell. Something about the way she moved, the way she acted. She was a shadow of Buffy, all the way through. And then Wesley. Wes, who acted sometimes like he was the prototype of Giles that they hadn't quite perfected.
Shadow people, just like her.
They didn't know it, she realized. They thought of themselves as whole people, real people.
But the longer she watched, the more it cemented itself. They, like her, were second choices, the people to use if the real ones couldn't be there. In the great cosmic battle, they were the mistakes.
