Pax in Bello by Nomad (G)
Our last stop this month will be at the McGarry Memorial Gardens to pay our respects. Thanks to everyone who rode along! I'd hoped to get in a lot more recommendations, but Real Life didn't want to cooperate. With any luck, one of these recs will lead you to an author or an archive worth exploring.
Fandom: WEST WING
Pairing: None, Leo gen
Author on LJ:
nomadicwriter
Author Website: http://www.cybamall.com/nomadsrealm/index.htm
Why this must be read:
As I was looking through the previously recommendeds, I noticed that Nomad has been absent since the very first few posts for this fandom. Such an oversight must certainly be corrected, no? Especially since Nomad has a wonderful grasp of the characters and a undeniable talent for bringing out the unspoken moments that rest between the dramas that play out on our screens.
Going through my bookmarks in search of a suitable re-introduction of this author, I noticed that she'd updated recently with a new WW one-shot. I had planned to read it after I'd posted this rec, but couldn't resist the temptation.
Why must this be read? Because when I first read it, I couldn't read the last few lines for all the crying. Because I finished reading Pax a month ago and I haven't stopped thinking about it since then. Because it's a beautiful tribute to John Spencer and the character he so ably portrayed. And because the love and respect that Nomad has for both the actor and the character shines through in every word.
Pax in Bello
but don't stop there! everything by nomad is worth the time you'll spend.
