Come Into Me by Shosen (NC17)
Fandom: ENTERPRISE
Pairing: Trip/Reed
Author on LJ:
shosen
Author Website: Totally Kawaii
Why this must be read:
You know that fandom cliche in which the characters are forced by some outside influence to have sex, thus revealing their secret desire for one another? There are plenty of examples of that within Enterprise, and the outside influence is almost always, of course, aliens. This is a cliche fic, certainly, but Shosen's straightforward style lends itself well to taking a cliche and making something really beautiful out of it. It's episode-related (spoilers for season two's "The Crossing") and sort of dreamlike without being ridiculous.
Another good reason to read is that Trip/Reed is probably the most popular slash pairing in this fandom, and Shosen writes them well (and she doesn't fall into the trap that a lot of Trip writers do of trying to write his accent phonetically, which is my biggest turn-off in this fandom).
"Come Into Me" manages to be hot and a little awkward and just this side of sweet, a combination that I can never resist.
