Why this must be read:

In order to give a respite to those who don't especially appreciate the Bodie/Cowley pairing, I chose this time to recommend a very charming, well written and enticing first time story that could be called a PWP, weren't it so cleverly and convincingly done, with a smooth and very progressive development. It sounds right, very right. The blend of lust and affection is perfect.

Here the controller of CI5 has no part, save of sleeping innocently in the passenger seat during a long journey while, in the back of the car, his two top agents are yielding to temptation and indulging in lewd behaviour.

For some reason, that nobody is obliged to share, I always thought for this kind of men, who are first "fellows in arms" after all, a strong and deep friendship plus a nice "buddy fucking", to be more likely and interesting than romantic love. It might be a first step though...

A very belated message I address to a few readers of my "Pros" recs, OT regarding the thread but not our common interest in "Pros":

As you must have noticed, "Pros" has been written off the list of the regular fandoms; I have done two months and proposed to keep on reccing for a third , to fill the gap before another volunteer would sign up but it was refused, to give place to more active fandoms. That's a pity, really; how do you think we could awaken the lists members and motivate them to take part in the game? pesonally, I am too young in the fandom; I know almost nobody and I suspect my calls would fall in a pit of indifference.

I really love this story, actually this writer is one of my favourites. It's the very first story I read when I got into Pros fandom, and I discovered it via a small piece that had been quoted in Textual Poachers.

Not only am I delurking but this may very well be my first ever comment in LJ and I had to really think hard as to whether I wanted to do this or not (comment that is). At the risk of sounding a real noob....what is a PWP? I only just recently figured out what WIP stood for. A translation for PWP and any other well used term that comes to mind would be appreciated. And now I am off to read this story as I really appreciate the comments and thoughts surrounding any story recommendation before I read them, whether I find myself agreeing or not.

Strange, I didn't got your post in my mailbox, I just noticed it by mere chance, while scrolling down my LJ friends pages.

If you don't know what is a PWP, I don't know what is a noob! (I must say I am French, so most of the Anglo-American slang escapes me).

A "PWP" stands for "Plot, what Plot?"; an ironical reply from slash authors to the many critical comments issued by readers (most gen ones but not only) about certain slash stories, devoided of action or characters development, which seemed to be written only to give a setting to the sex scenes. Of course this one doesn't fit the definition; there is no action but there is undoubtly a psychological progression. Actually this label has not much pertinency.
