Isa Ramirez series by Dina Heredia (PG - PG-13)
Fandom: HIGHLANDER
Pairing: none
author's website: Dina used to have a personal site, but that has closed and I've yet to find a new site of hers. The stories, fortunately, are stored at the Seventh Dimension archives.
Why this must be read:
There were a lot of Highlander fans who had biiig issues with the season 5 finale, "Archangel." Lots of them ignored season 6 and wrote "fixes" or alternate universes to bring Richie Ryan back to life, or make it so that he had never died. Dina Heredia's five-part series is an interesting combination of the two - an AU that doesn't ignore the events of "Archangel," but casts them in a new light, making a few tweaks to canon from season 4's Dark Quickening episodes on.
One interesting thing about this series (what, you need more than fixing Richie's death?) is that it involves an Original Female Character - frequently dreaded, but in this case, written with skill and a good amount of research into her cultural background.
Seventh Dimension asks folks not to link to stories directly, so this link will take you to the "H" author's index page - just scroll down until you see "Heredia, Dina."
The Stories, in order:
Khaalida
Old Man on the Mountain
The Seal of Solomon
Blossoms from Heaven
Foreversomething
