A final note about reccing in small fandoms
As the first person reccing in the new "small rpf fandoms" category, I wanted to point out a dilemma I faced when putting together this rec set, as I think it's going to be an ongoing issue. The thing is, it's likely that the people who are interested enough in a small fandom to rec it, are probably also going to be writing it, and running the challenges, and modding the archives and so on. This makes it difficult to give an unbiased "snapshot" of the fandom, which is the goal the van's moderators are clearly hoping for when they allow small fandom drivers to rec as many stories as they like during the month.

crack_van has a no-self-rec policy, which meant I didn't have to tackle that aspect of the problem. On the other hand, it does also mean that this rec set is more of a starting point than anything else. For instance, I couldn't rec what I believe is the first fanfic renku ever written. Yes, that's right, there's a whole Matt/Ben story told by multiple authors in haiku! It's the kind of thing I'd normally rec, if it was even half-way decent, just for novelty value, but as I'm one of the authors it's not in the set.
Anyway, my point is that even though this is a small fandom, there's a lot more fiction out there to find. If you've enjoyed reading in this fandom, there are links to the main Afflection archives in the overview, and I'm also happy to answer questions. Just drop by my LJ or email me.
