Why this must be read: There were a lot of post-Asylum fics written during the winter hiatus, but this is probably one of my favorites. What I love most about this fic is that Sam and Dean never really talk about what actually happened…they simply do their best to move on and put it behind them. It reads as very real, not only to the characters, but most sibling relationships.

Sam's eyes widened a little as he took in the damage, but all he said was, "You'd better not have used up all the hot water."

"Cold showers are good for you," Dean told him. Sam paused to glare at him before slamming the bathroom door shut.
