Why this must be read:
If good Stark/Zhaan stories are rare, then good Stark/Zhaan porn -- or, for that matter, any Stark/Zhaan porn -- is almost nonexistent. This little story, however, does an excellent job of helping to rectify that. It's rather sweet, which you might expect from this pairing, but it's also quite surprisingly hot, and it gets bonus points for describing an alien's anatomy as actually, well, alien. The setup is perhaps a bit cliche -- Stark comes across Zhaan enjoying some Delvian-style quality alone time -- but, hey, sometimes the porn cliches are cliches because they work. Oh, and the Stark voice is very good, as you can perhaps tell from an excerpt:

She doesn't know I'm here. I feel a little guilty at that; I'm still an outsider here, not truly accepted, and this is taking privilege. I've seen her nude, and even shared Unity with her, but that's no reason to think I have the right to witness this. I should at least ask.
But if I did she might make me leave, perhaps even leave the ship and never bother her again, and the thought of never seeing her again makes me weak, makes me hold my hand to my mouth and bite down.
